Teaching Math
Here is the lesson plan I have prepared for my interview :) I am still going to make some tweaks, but I just learned how to do all this for my other class that I'm taking online right now...so I thought I'd post my progress and an example of what I can do :)
This lesson plan is to prepare students for factoring polynomials. Knowing the patterns I highlight in this Jing Recording is very very helpful when factoring polynomials.

Our 7.5 Mile Hike
Well, we all woke up late because we were out celebrating together last night for St.Patty's, but here are the pics I took while we hiked Iron King Trail and Peavine Trail. Altogether it was 7.5 miles and a little over 2 hours. I developed terrible blisters halfway through, but I made it and they are all better now :) Next time I'll have to wear mole skin, better socks, and better shoes. We hiked from Prescott Valley to Prescott, technically. The trail starts near my house and ends near the lake closer to ERAU and downtown PRC (not the one right next to ERAU). There is a railroad car at each mile and the rock formations are gorgeous.

Toki Returns
One night I showed up to my friend's house and the front door was open. It turns out the dogs had escaped and it was snowing that night. We looked and looked and eventually found Layla, but not Toki. Layla is the brown and white dog. Toki is the black and brown dog. We were upset with Layla because we felt she did it on purpose because she doesn't get as much attention as Toki even though she is the better behaved dog. Toki was returned to us a couple of days later. A police officer had found him and fallen in love so she kept him overnight and then returned him later. These pictures were taken after his surprising return :)

Hangin with my boys...
Quartz Mountain
Yesterday, Mike and I went hiking to the top of Quartz Mountain. We parked at the end of the pavement in Mike's Mom's neighborhood, hiked a little over a mile, and then hiked to the peak of Quartz Mountain. The mountain was aptly named...there was a bunch of quartz all over the place, especially at the top :)

This is what the ground we were hiking on looked like. The gravel was made of quartz.

Mike holding a century plant. This one is dead. They only bloom once every 100 years and I got to see them in bloom last summer :)

This was a cool tree that was burned in the wildfires of 2002. This entire trail and mountain used to be covered in Pines that were well over 60 feet tall. This is what remains and has grown back since the wildfires.

This is the peak of Quartz Mountain from the path we are hiking along.

This is a cool rock/boulder at the peak.

I was sitting on the quartz boulder behind me and this is what was beneath me. A lot of quartz and the path.

Here's Mike at the top with me.

And here I am again :)

The big pink mountain in the background is Granite Mountain and the smaller, darker butte in front of it is Thumb Butte. They are the two most well-known landmarks in the Prescott Area.

You can see the tree line where the fire stopped. You can tell how tall and thick the trees used to be :(
Here's a closer look at the pine trees that remind me of home
Here is the aerial map of the hike we made. We parked by the roads in the upper, right-hand corner of the map and hiked along the dirt road diagonally left. Quartz Mountain is in the center of that circular dirt road in the bottom left corner.
